HOW TO MEASURE YOUR FOOT

Standing, place your foot on a piece of paper and trace your foot with a pen or pencil making sure that the pen is always exactly perpendicular (90 degrees) to the floor. Measure the length of your foot from the heel to the tip of the longest toe in centimeters and round up to the nearest size. For example, if your foot measures between 27.3 cm you need a 27.5, or if you measure 27.7 cm, you will need a size 28 boot.  We do not carry half sizes in stock, but they are available by special order.  Please contact us by email for details on special orders.

A NOTE ON FITTING CALVES

While most of the attention in choosing a size is paid to foot length, some customers have some concerns about calf width.  If your tabi are too tight around the calf, please email us for help.  You can either special order a standard jikatabi in a wide-calf model, or for other models such as the safety tabi, you can purchase an additional kohaze strip to widen the calf. Please write us for details.

Shipping Costs and Delivery

Items are shipped within 2 business days after payment has been received.  Most orders can be shipped worldwide directly from Shizuoka, Japan by EMS Japan or International Air Delivery.  EMS is our recommended service as it is the fastest and safest guaranteed shipping method.  EMS typically takes 3-6 days, is insured and registered.  Standard International Air generally takes 6-14 days, is not insured but can be registered (at an additional cost of US$4).

Shipping costs are based on the weight of your order including packaging as well as the average exchange rate from the Japanese Yen to the US Dollar.  Prices quoted in the chart below are for one unit only to North America.  For rough estimates on combined orders or orders outside of North America, please refer to the EMS Japan shipping rates calculator* using the weights in the chart below.

*On the form, for 1 enter (parcel), and 3 enter (Shizuoka)

Returns and Exchanges

Naturally when ordering off the Internet, it is impossible to choose the right size 100% of the time, no matter how careful we think we are. We are happy to accept size exchanges if you happen to order the wrong size, or alternatively we offer 10% off a size correction pair if you prefer to keep the original pair and give them to a friend.

The process of exchanging sizes is as follows:

  1. You send us an e-mail to notify us that you will be returning your boots for an exchange
  2. You ship the original boots (unworn) back to tabisonline.com
  3. Your boots are received by us and deemed in perfect condition
  4. You receive and pay the PayPal invoice for the cost of return shipping
  5. Your new pair of boots is shipped

Caring For Your Tabi Boots

Tabi boots are quite durable and are generally meant to get roughed up and dirty. However, if you would like to keep them looking spotless, wash them with a damp cloth or towel and air dry.  Try to avoid direct sunlight to avoid sun bleaching.
